We needed a "home away from home," since we didn’t have family in the area. We wanted a church where we could be taught what the Bible says about living the Christian life, our marriage, raising our sons, and other every other area of life. That and so much more was what we found here at Temple.

When we went through the loss of our daughter, Belle, we were so truly blessed at the amazing love and support that came from our church family. Although our boys are young, they have already learned so much about God and the wonderful stories of the Bible through the Sunday School.

We are so grateful for a pastor who faithfully preaches the Bible with a Christ-like spirit in every service. If you looking for a church where you can sense that God is working, then visit with us at Temple Baptist Church.

We had moved to Knoxville from St. Louis and were looking for a fundamental Baptist church that was sound in doctrine and music and believed in winning men and women to Christ. Since we are both natives of India, we were also looking for church with a vision for world evangelism. That is what we found when we came to Temple.

We are grateful for the opportunities to serve Christ in a number of ways throughout the church. Our church home has ministries to meet the spiritual needs of every member of your family.

We knew the Lord was leading us to join the church. The Bible messages, the beautiful and God-honoring music, and the emphasis on the family convinced us that this was the place for us. This is a church with a great vision for reaching our community and far beyond.

There are so many blessings our family has received since we’ve been here! We hear consistent weekly Bible preaching and teaching, we have the privilege to serve the Lord in our 1st grade Sunday School class, we have confidence that our daughters are being taught God’s Word by dedicated teachers who love Christ, there is a wonderful liberty throughout the church, and Pastor and Mrs. Sexton know and love our children.

We moved our family here from Las Vegas, looking for a church that believed and taught God’s Word, had a vision to reach the world with the gospel, and had a loving heart for people.

Since we have no extended family here, the kindness and love we have been shown has meant so much to us. We are grateful for a Pastor who so obviously desires to know and follow the Lord’s direction.

Our church home has been such a great blessing to our children. We home school our three youngest children and we are so grateful for the support we have received and for the Christian friends they have made at Temple. Our three oldest children are getting a wonderful education at Crown College. We attend the Knoxville School of the Bible every Monday night. We love it!

We constantly invite folks, telling them of all the wonderful things the Lord has done for us since we have been at Temple. We tell them, “You just need to come see for yourself.”

We knew the Lord was leading us here when we considered what the church stands for and when we saw the many opportunities to serve the Lord.

Temple is a church that encourages fellowship among its members like a large family. Through the strong friendships we have made, we have grown deeper in the Lord.

We have been given an opportunity to serve in the bus ministry. Working each week with so many children, seeing them come to know the Lord as Savior, is a blessing beyond description. We are both so grateful for the privilege.

We can’t imagine a better place for our family to be involved, serving and growing in the Lord.

We are a part of this church family because it has a heart for reaching the lost, where the Bible is faithfully preached, and where our family could grow. There so many wonderful Christian people here who have become our dear friends through the years.

Our children have been marvelously blessed in so many ways. They both graduated from Temple Baptist Academy and met their mates here. Both are actively serving the Lord here at Temple with their families.

Charlotte’s family listened to the radio broadcast and visited the church. Someone from the church made personal contact soon afterwards. We were looking for a new home church and everyone made us feel part of the church family from the very start.

We met in the Single Adult Sunday School class in 2004 and married a year later. We believe that God led us to one another here. Teaching a Bible study class in the 20’s couples department has been a great opportunity and blessing to us.

It’s good to know that when we come to church there will be Bible preaching and Christ-honoring music.

We had been asking the Lord to lead us to a church that would reinforce the truths we had been teaching our children. It was obvious God had answered our prayers on our first Sunday visit. As we drove home, we agreed that “we had been to church”. We determined that this was the church where we want to raise our children.”

There is great consistency and purpose in the teaching of the Bible through the Sunday School, beginning with the children and continuing through to the adult classes. Parents need the solid foundation of God’s Word upon which to build their family.

Our church is a loving and caring family that works hard to make everyone feel welcome and loved.

We were thrilled to become a part of a church that preaches and teaches the Word of God. We wanted to find a place to serve God, where we would be taught Bible principles that would strengthen our family.

Our daughter, son-in-law, and three grandchildren serve the Lord here with us. The people at Temple have become our family. We truly care for each other - praying and encouraging one another.

We have a special love for the ministry our church has to couples. Families are under attack and need help. Christ is the answer. There is great liberty here because the Spirit of the Lord is in this place. Come, serve the Lord with us!

We came to Temple looking for a church that would teach and preach the Bible, be mission-minded, and give fellowship with like-minded young Christian families.

It is wonderful to be a part of a church family that believes and teach the Word of God with no apology, and yet with a Christ-like spirit. We are blessed to be confident that what our children are being taught at church will agree with what we teach them at home from God’s Word. The many young families with whom we have become friends are such a source of strength and encouragement to be us and our children.

Our church is a caring family that is determined to evangelize our community and the world with the gospel of Christ.

Scott and Wendy Sullivan

This was the church in which Wendy was raised and we wanted to raise our children here, as well. We knew this was a church where God’s Word was preached and the Holy Spirit was working. We also wanted to serve the Lord together as a family in a church that has remained on the old paths.

We are so thankful for the children’s ministry. Our greatest blessings have come from seeing our children saved and baptized as a result of what they have been taught in our home and at church. They are growing up with an understanding that world evangelism is their responsibility, too.

From their Sunday School classes to the children’s choirs, our children have been saturated with God’s Word. They will always remember the Scripture songs and memory verses they have learned. We trust that the Lord will bring His Word back to their minds and hearts when they need it most.

The Lord is working here and we hope you will come serve the Lord together with us.
